Malorie Blackman: The Power of Stories Engagement 

For our malorie Blackman: The Power of Stories project we took students from Open City Accelerate on a tour of the exhibition and then delivered a creative workshop. For this session, students were asked to think about what makes an inclusive space inside the British Library. Ria Bartlett also helped the students to produce creative manifestos for an inclusive library and developed section drawings of the British Library to reflect what they wrote.

Open City Accelerate is a free design, education and mentoring programme which provides access to a wider pool of young people and aims to increase diversity in the built environment professions. Accelerate provides young people between the age of 16-18 with a series of skills workshops in exciting locations across London, one-to-one mentoring at an architecture practice and in-depth guidance on university applications.
