Them’s The BreaksÂ
In collaboration with RESOLVE Collective and Maia Ardalla, POoR worked with Accumulate to create a piece for their Wonderland exhibition. Accumulate is a charity that engages with people who are, or have at some point in their lives, experienced homelessness. After a series of co-design workshops with the organisation, POoR came up with a colourful installation.
The piece, taking the form of a DJ booth, was co-designed to reflect the groups relationship with music throughout their lives. Exploring ideas of genre, subculture and sound the installation aimed to speak to the group's ability to enjoy and celebrate music. The DJ booth was designed, built, painted and then installed at One Crown Place for the Wonderland Exhibition. Sponsored by MTD Group and hosted by Conductor London the event was a showcase of Accumulate’s achievements throughout the year. Each of the objects on display were produced by participants affected by homelessness during creative workshops.

What does the school of the future look like? What items would you have in the classroom of the future? Will students still be reading from books in a 100 years time? These are all questions that POoR asked students from Harris City Academy Crystal Palace’s sixth-form during a creative model making workshop.
