As part of the Bexleyheath High Streets For All project, we developed a programme to help young people develop creative thinking, design, and entrepreneurship skills. The Youth Enterprise programme was a competition that taught students both business and marketing skills through a series of 2-hour workshops. During these sessions, students designed tote bags, card games, and T-shirts that they sold at Bexleyheath Night Market. All the participants kept the money they earned when they sold their products at the market.
As part of this programme, the young people also curated an impressive talent show titled ‘Bexley’s Got Light' which happened during one of the Bexleyheath’s Night Markets. This event saw powerful performances from local musicians, rappers, and magicians. POoR also invited emerging artists Revo, Gigi Moss and Tashana to perform. Since the programme was also a competition the winning team was awarded a certificate and trophy at the Bexley’s Got Light talent show.
